At Westport Public School, Monday is the BEST day of the week!
Why?
Because every Monday is Mob Monday!
Each week, Mrs Scullion works with Stage 3 students to explore Aboriginal culture through traditional stories, activities, and learning experiences.
These students then take on the role of cultural leaders, opening the hall at lunchtime for all students to join in and learn about Aboriginal culture. Everyone has the opportunity to create an artwork or craft piece to take home — a wonderful conversation starter to share their new knowledge with family and friends.
This inspiring initiative ensures that every student at Westport Public School has regular opportunities to engage in culturally inclusive learning. It’s all about celebrating and understanding the rich traditions and stories of Aboriginal people in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
What does your school do to ensure all students are learning about the traditions and stories of the world’s oldest living culture?
