Students showed a strong interest in learning more about the Gathang language. Jamie Donovan and Wayne Anderson attended some of our sessions, sharing their cultural knowledge and teaching our students some Gathang language. The students thoroughly enjoyed participating in these lessons.

Our Junior AECG has also been busy making some papier-mâché Australian animals. These will be passed on to Jamie Donovan for the Port Macquarie NAIDOC Week celebrations. We have made a dolphin, which is the Birpai Aboriginal totem, and a snake.

Watch our K-2 students do ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ in Gathang language, which was performed at the NAIDOC Week assembly.
