At Hastings Public School we formed a Junior AECG group. The group meets several times a term to develop leadership and cultural awareness.
With guidance from Jamie Donovan, Uncle Brian and Aunty Linda, students have been involved in a variety of activities. During the sessions, students have learnt about culture and where their families come from. They participated in a variety of Aboriginal games and worked collaboratively as a team. The students also felt the need for a suggestion box in the school. They designed and created a suggestion box where all students can make suggestions about Aboriginal education. This is a focus we hope to continue next year.
